- 1st Myth = 'Rolfing is Painful.'
- Read the blog to learn just how not painful Rolfing can be: http://www.crossfitsanitas.com/rolfing-myth-series-rolfing-painful/
- 2nd Myth = 'That's what I used to do in college.'
- Yes, in full truth, there have been several occasions when I tell people I do 'Rolfing' for a living. Then, they chuckingly tell me the above phrase. I wrote this blog to shed light on this silly truth & help educate on where the term 'Rolfing' comes from. You can read it here: http://www.crossfitsanitas.com/rolfing-myth-series-myth-2-thats-used-college/
- 3rd Myth = ‘I have to do the 10-Series’
- Often times when people are curious about Rolfing they wonder if they need to do the 10-Series or not. I am a huge fan of the 10-Series, but work with each client individually depending on what their goals are, what other modalities they are receiving, & what their time & financial resources look like. - 4th Myth = ‘It’s just a deep tissue massage.’
- One of the most common things I hear is that Rolfing is basically a deep tissue massage. This my friends is one of the biggest myths of Rolfing. Read my Rolfing Myth #4 here: http://www.crossfitsanitas.com/rolfing-myth-series-myth-4-its-just-a-deep-tissue-massage/
- 5th Myth = ‘I will ‘fix’ you.’’
- Ida Rolf said it best, “An effective human being is a whole that is greater than the sum of its parts.” You don’t need fixing. Read more on why I don’t believe in ‘fixing’ people here: http://www.crossfitsanitas.com/rolfing-myth-series-myth-5-will-fix/
