Happy Valentines Day! To me, this day serves as a reminder to keep my heart open to both receiving & giving love. A lot of our daily physical positions involve us being caved in at the heart as our shoulders are rounded forward & we are hunched over. This is a great restorative position to help you structurally be more open, which I find also helps me to stay more open & loving mentally & emotionally.
You will need 2 yoga blocks for this particular heart opener. If you don’t have yoga blocks, you can get creative with what you have on hand at home. I recommend being in this heart opener pose for at least 3 minutes. It’s a great thing to-do mid-day or at the end of your work day. As you are in the pose, check-in with your body overall, noticing if any places are holding onto excess tension that could maybe soften.
