This is a very special episode as I get to share with you an incredibly loving woman who is the very reason I have the domain for Radical Embodiment, Coco Rosenblatt-Farrell. Coco and I met because she was the former domain owner of RadicalEmbodiment.com.
Coco defines embodiment as the combination of presence in your body, the awareness of your body, and the pleasure of aliveness. In the episode she shares on, unconditional love and radical embodiment, her journey of coming out of body negativity, the turning point in her health, the importance of not weighing yourself every morning, viewing your body as a Sacred garment, and loving your way through.
Coco is a former women’s empowerment coach and group facilitator who supported individual clients and led women’s circles and retreats for over 15 years with a focus on unconditional self-love and joyful embodiment.
Growing up Catholic in a small New England town with early and ongoing exposure to body negativity as well immersion in the diet culture, Coco worked for many years to unwind the familial, religious, and societal conditioning that had shaped her relationship with herself, her body, her sexuality, and food, ultimately leading her to discover a deep & abiding love for her body, or what she calls her “sacred garment.”
In the spring of 2019, Coco was diagnosed with invasive, multi centric breast cancer. With her body as her sanctuary, she knew that she could not adopt the familiar battle mentality of “kicking cancer’s ass” that would have her view part of her body as the enemy and bring the energy of fear and fight into her already taxed system. Instead, she decided to love her way through the experience, cultivating a soft, relaxed body, and an open, undefended heart that ultimately made her cancer journey one of the most profoundly beautiful and transformative adventures of her life.
Coco is currently at work on a book about her experience entitled “loving my way through,” and when she is not writing she nourishes her body and spirit by spending quality time with her beloved family & friends, playing in nature, cooking her favorite foods, and dancing sensually to a wide variety of music.
