Watch my February 2020 edition of my Interview Series with Women Leaders featuring Erin Keeley.
Erin Keeley (MS) is an executive culture consultant and women’s coach. She works with modern businesses to create purposeful cultures that foster profitable businesses where talented employees, especially millennials and women, thrive. She is the Founder of the Scarlet Consulting Group where she does executive consulting, interpersonal leadership training, and interpersonal coaching. She is also the Chief Services Officer of an executive coaching and HR software company called Intentable.
Erin calls herself a culture engineer: She uses her Master’s in engineering combined with her executive and relationship coaching skills to help businesses build intentional cultures that foster healthy relationships, efficacious teams, employee retention, & employee productivity. She also helps small business female-preneurs to vision and launch their dream businesses and teams.
Part of Erin’s work is to teach integrity on the team level. She helps teams set up their norms & a space where everyone gets to have a voice. Then, at a certain point everyone agrees that yes they are a team & yes these are the norms they are following & if they break a norm, they agree to repair with each other & this is how they will do it.
Last fall, I saw Erin speak on the 3rd wave of feminism, which she distinguishes as ‘how do we grow in relationship instead of just solidarity?’. In a 2-person conversation, 1 person doesn’t have to be posturing & the other doesn’t have to be collapsing. They can both be in their gifts & they can each keep their expertise & teach each other. Erin learned to lead years ago as a young high school gymnastics coach. It was her role to take a freshman girl & foster her into a leadership role by the time she was a senior. In order to accomplish this; Erin learned that authoritative roles are ineffective because they don’t teach the most important part of leadership: the ability to act from your own core and agency.
